Music of My Life: Revised

This is a playlist of six of my favorite songs that I hope will help you understand a bit more about me.

YouTube Playlist
Kiss Me - Ed Sheeran
Pina Colada in a Pint Glass - Gaelic Storm
Strong - One Direction
I Would Walk 500 Miles - The Proclaimers
Seasons of Love - RENT
The Last Night - Skillet

Narrowing down my iTunes library into a six-song playlist of my favorites was incredibly difficult. I've always had a love for music and deciding on these six took a lot of effort. All of these songs are connected with a memory for me. Strong, for instance, reminds me of this past Christmas and all of the times I had spending with friends and family. Pina Colada in a Pint Glass is a song I fell in love with when I was ten. It’s also by the first band I ever saw in concert and I still see them every summer at Irish Fest. Kiss Me is the song that got me hooked on Ed Sheeran and, because of that, I was able to go see him in concert two years ago. I Would Walk 500 Miles is significant to me because of Doctor Who. That song will never fail to make smile and start dancing. Seasons of Love will forever remind me of the first time I saw RENT with my sister and sang along the whole time. It’s difficult to explain why The Last Night is close to me, but I'll let you make your deductions after listening to it.
These songs are random and they come from different genres, but as I made this playlist, I started to notice what they all have in common. Most of the lyrics to these songs talk about having someone to lean on, or having someone to love. I didn't realize it as I was making it, but looking back, I guess those lyrics really do explain what I really care about. I care about love. After listening to this playlist, I think you could catch that pretty quickly. You wouldn't be able to tell, however, that I have a GREAT love for Disney music, or some traditional Celtic bagpipes, or even the occasional rap song. My music taste is scattered and random, and it would be impossible to nail every piece of my personality down with a few songs, but this playlist is what I’ll be listening to on repeat for the next week, just to remind myself of the memories I have with this music.
